I'll probably regret this trade, you have done well in the deals we made in the past. I already have Dubnyk/Deslariers, I figure I might as well try to lock up Edmonton... Garon has to fight Deslariers and Roloson for playing time... He is probably going to play about 40-50 games... The most games he ever played in 2005-06 on the Kings he had 63 with a .894 Save Percentage and a 3.22 GAA... He is already on his 3rd NHL team, he is basically a stop gap until Dubnyk & Deslariers take over... The Bruins are a better defensive team, I figure I'll give you a shot to get Thomas... Rather than him stuck on my bench behind Backstrom... I wanted Garon & the 3rd rounder alone for Thomas, but figured I'd throw you in Clark so he has a chance to play...
Kings will trade...
All Star G-Tim Thomas (Bruins)
D-Brett Clark (Avs)
Plus
Throw Ins...
G-Matti Kaltianen (was in Boston system no idea status now)
For
G-Garon (Oilers)
Your 3rd Round 2009 Pick
Tim Thomas is coming off an All Star season for the Boston Bruins... They tried to replace him with Toivennen who ended up sent to parts unknown... Then they tried to bring in Manny Fernandez who managed to play 4 games... Anyways Thomas had 28 Wins, 3 Shut Outs, a 2.44 GAA, and a .921 Save Percentage... Among the best in the NHL, he should be good for about 60 Starts... Boston was among the best in the NHL only letting up 222 Goals, while scoring 212... They still made the post season even without Bergeron, largely from the play of Tim Thomas. The year before Thomas had 30 Wins, he has been consistently improving if anything the last 3 years... Boston ranked 11th in Goaltending last year, while the Oilers ranked 25th... Thomas should be on the best team out of all your other goal tending options you have. Legace will likely lose playing time to Mason or other Blues goalies. I think Phoenix is probably a year or two away from their younger players improving them to have a shot at the post season like a 90+ Boston Bruins team...
You know what they say the 3rd Brett is the Charm... Clark should be good for about 10ish goals and 30-40 points... In 05-2006 Clark had 9 Goals, 36 Points in 80 games... In 06-2007 Clark had 10 Goals, 39 Points, in 82 games... Last year Clark had 5 Goals, 21 Points in 57 games... He missed some time from a shoulder injury... I think Clark will fit in your team well, I already traded you all my other Bretts haha... I got Stastny/Wolski which makes Clark's chances to get into the lineup rather nill... Rather than be a Sal who would let him rot on my roster, I figure I'd throw you him in the deal... I think he can do time in your top 4-6 D-men and I've started him before myself...
I don't know much about Matti, he was in the Bruins system, so I'll just throw him in just in case...
I guess let me know, I probably will offer these guys in another trade so they might be gone if wait too long...
I'll keep this trade open until October 8th at 11:48 PM... I might still do deal after that but I'm not obligated to...
