I figure you might like one of these options for your 3rd rounder... I'm including Hamel in all the deals since I have too many Senators with Kuba traded there...
Kings will trade...
W-Ryan Callahan (NYR) and W-Denis Hamel (Senators)
OR
C-Mike Sillinger (Islanders) and W-Denis Hamel (Senators)
OR
C-Ryan Craig (Tampa) and W-Denis Hamel (Senators)
OR
G-Dan Turple (Atlanta) and W-Denis Hamel (Senators)
OR
W-Schaefer (Boston) and W-Denis Hamel (Senators)

Your 3nd Round Pick 2008 (24th Overall) and Retired W-Lucky Luc
Ryan Callahan is a pretty solid prospect, I've seen him graded a 6.5A... Which means he should be a sure thing to stick in the NHL. He should be good for about 20-30+ goals, I just don't like the Rangers, he is my last position player on the team... I figure on your team, he will have time to grow into a position as your older wingers retire. I don't have much doubt he will crack 20-30 goals, he just isn't in my top 10 Wings.
Sillinger can give you insurance at center if anybody struggles or gets hurt... At worse I think he could see time as your backup Center... In 2005-06 he had 32 Goals splitting time on the Blues and Nashville... In 2006-2007 he had 26 Goals on the Islanders, where he can play on the PP or SH situations... Last year Sillinger was hurt, but still managed 14 Goals, 26 Points, in 52 games, with 3 PP, and 2 SH goals... He shot about 15%, down from his 17.11% the year before, when he had 26 Goals on only 152 Shots on goal... He just isn't in my top centers anymore, I'd rather give him a change to get some playing time. He could be good for another 50-60 point season, it depends on how much ice time he gets, he wasn't a bad league night player when I started him... My main issue with him, is he don't take enough shots on goal.
Craig has shown flashes, but always seems to get hurt, he is still young... In 05-06 he had 15 Goals in 48 games, which would have given him a shot at 30 over a full season... Last year he had 1 goal in 7 games, 2 points, he has upside if he can stay healthy...
Schaefer scored 20 goals on the Senators a few years ago with 2nd/3rd line duty. He could work his way in your top 6, with Murray bought out he should see 2nd/3rd line duty at worse on Boston this year... Not to mention Bergeron could play center on his line, which should help him get into the 50-60+ point range... He had a 50 point season, then 46 point season before an off year on Boston... Though he wasn't getting much ice time, none of his 9 goals on 91 shots were on the PP either. There is a chance he can see time in your top 4-6 Wings.
With Murray bought out, Schaefer should see solid 2nd/3rd line duty, penalty kill, and maybe even some PP time... I don't see any wingers who will be around in the 3rd round that are sure things or will even be playing significant time in the NHL. A goalie you take there might be no better than Turple.
Hamel had a good pre season in 2006-07 where he had a hat trick, I think it was a PP, SH, and normal goal... He scored the few league night games I started him as well... There is a chance he can crack the Senators lineup with the salary cap how it is... They signed him to a 3 year contract not long ago... He for some reason is a guy never given a shot to play at the NHL level... He had 1 goal on 3 shots when he played for Atlanta in 2006-07... Hamel had 56 Goals, 91 Points, in 2005-06 in the AHL... The guy has shown the ability to score at the AHL level, he could pan out for you... I really don't understand why he has never been given a real chance to produce in the NHL to be honest.
Turple after Atlanta drafted him had 7 Shut Outs, 40 Wins, 2.25 GAA, and a .924 Save Percentage in the OHL... He is only 23 years old, has a fair amount of upside, I figure he can at least crack the NHL as a backup for the Thrashers... Better to get him now in a trade while his value isn't that high... Look at past goalies I bid on or owned, they cost a 1st rounder, Toskala, Huet, the latter a guy I bid on when he was on the Manchester Monarchs in the AHL ... You know Atlanta goalies are injury prone, he could see NHL time this year... At worse you can probably package him in a deal with your other Atlanta goalie to the Avalanche...
I guess let me know, I probably will offer these guys in another trade so they might be gone if wait too long... Tell me which option you want to do... I plan to put Luc on my inactive list, if you don't want to include him thats fine... I'll consider throwing in D-McCarthy or D-Vishnevski, or C-Mike Johnson too if you want them for some odd reason hehe...
I'll keep this trade open until Sept 27th at 7:27 PM... I might still do deal after that but not obligated to...
