I'll probably regret this trade, you have done well in the deals we made in the past. I think Fedotenko is worth the pick alone, he should have a 20-30+ Goal season on the Penguins...
Kings will trade...
W-Ruslan Fedotenko (Penguins)
D-Vitaly Vishnevski (Devils) in KHL though...
G-Brett Bennett (Phoenix)
W-Peter Schaefer (Boston)
W-Denis Hamel (Senators)
For
Your 2nd Round Pick 2008 (12th Overall)
Fedotenko should have a good year on the Penguins, even on the lowly Islanders he had 16 Goals, 8 PP in only 67 games. His best year for goals was 2005-06 when he had 26 Goals on 164 Shots shooting 15.85%... I'd not be surprised if he got that many goals or more playing on a stacked Penguins team... He has always done pretty well on league night too. I remember when I had Richards, Prospal, and him all on Tampa, often he would have the best League night production... I think he can stick in your top 3-5 Wings, I'd like to see how he does with a chance to play... I really didn't want to trade him, but your looking to win now, I'm looking at 2009 hehe. He was a key to Tampa's Cup run, when he had 12 Goals, on 43 Shots, shooting an insane 27.91%... I'll miss him but I think he can pan out pretty well for you... A few of your best wingers had some injury issues, they might not be the same this year, even if they can avoid injuries... Fedotenko isn't even 30 years old, he could have a solid double digit PP total, which could be the difference between the post season or missing it. I think it would be ironic if he helped you win the cup, like he did Tampa Bay back in 2003-04, he could be the new Mike Knuble hehe...
Schaefer scored 20 goals on the Senators a few years ago with 2nd/3rd line duty. He could work his way in your top 6, with Murray bought out he should see 2nd/3rd line duty at worse on Boston this year... Not to mention Bergeron could play center on his line, which should help him get into the 50-60+ point range... He had a 50 point season, then 46 point season before an off year on Boston... Though he wasn't getting much ice time, none of his 9 goals on 91 shots were on the PP either. There is a chance he can see time in your top 4-6 Wings.
With Murray bought out, Schaefer should see solid 2nd/3rd line duty, penalty kill, and maybe even some PP time... I don't see any wingers who will be around in the 2nd round that are sure things or will even be playing significant time in the NHL. A goalie you take there might be no better than Bennett, who gives you a young goalie prospect.
Brett Bennett is a good 20 year old prospect Goalie in the Phoenix organization... I hate Phoenix, otherwise I'd probably be trying to get more for him in a trade... I think at worse he can end up as a backup in the NHL, he is at least 2-3 years away from pro hockey though... He has put up some pretty impressive numbers in short stints, I read some good things about him after I already had him too... In 2004-05 Playing for the US National Team U17 in 21 games, he had 1 shut out, a 2.44 GAA and a .936 Save Percentage... In 2005-06 Playing for the US National Team U18 in 5 games, he had a 1.26 GAA and a .960 Save Percentage... In 2006-07 he played 1 game for Boson U, letting up only 1 goal, with a .944 Save Percentage... In 2007-08 he had 3 Shut Outs, with a 2.63 GAA over 31 games at Boston U... He should fit in well on your team as a young goalie with a fair amount of upside.
Hamel had a good pre season in 2006-07 where he had a hat trick, I think it was a PP, SH, and normal goal... He scored the few league night games I started him as well... There is a chance he can crack the Senators lineup with the salary cap how it is... They signed him to a 3 year contract not long ago... He for some reason is a guy never given a shot to play at the NHL level... He had 1 goal on 3 shots when he played for Atlanta in 2006-07... Hamel had 56 Goals, 91 Points, in 2005-06 in the AHL... The guy has shown the ability to score at the AHL level, he could pan out for you... I really don't understand why he has never been given a real chance to produce in the NHL to be honest.
I guess let me know, I probably will offer these guys in another trade so they might be gone if wait too long...
I'll keep this trade open until September 24th at 4:20 PM... I might still do deal after that but not obligated to...
