Scoring
Goal = +1
Unassisted goal = get an extra +1/4 added
Powerplay Goal = +1 1/2
Shorthanded goal = +2
Penalty Shot goal = +3
Overtime goal = +2 unless its a penalty shot (No extra for PP,SH,Unassisted in OT)
Goalie scores a goal = +3
Hat trick = +1 added to goal total
Assists by foward, defensemen,or goalie = 1st assist is +1/4 his 2nd assist in game is worth +1/2 third assist in game is + 3/4 etc. example Player gets 3 assists in game worth + 1 1/2 total
1 minor by foward = - 1/4 2 minors - 1/2 etc
Two minors defensemen = - 1/4 four minors defensemen = - 1/2 etc
major penalty = - 1/2 to fowards or defensemen
If penalties are coincidental then there will be no minuses to a player... Only get a minus if opposing team gets a powerplay...
If there is three penalties at the same time EX. using my team Hull gets a slash call and Yzerman gets a slash call at 8:27 and opposing team Morozov gets only slashing call at 8:27 then both Hull and Yzerman would get a - 1/4 to each of their respected teams even though one is coincidental.
Goalie Scoring
Starting goalie win -1 to opponent
Starting goalie allows 1 goal - 1 to opponent
Starting goalie allows 2 goals - 1/2 to opponent
Goalie stops penalty shot -2 to opponent
Goalie shutout all opposing teams goals erased
30 Saves - 1/2 to opponent
35 Saves -1 to opponent
40 Saves -1 1/2 to opponent
- 1/2 a goal to opponent for every 5 additional saves
Starting goalie loss -1
Starting goalie allows 5 goals -1
Starting goalie allows 6 goals -1 1/2
-1/2 a goal for every goal after that
note
If your goalie does not play at least 55 minutes then he can not get Goals against bonuses..but still can lose points for Goals against.
If you do not have a goalie that starts you will lose -1/2
* Before taking away from your team or your opponents team with goalie performance, you must figure out the total minus to the team. EX If your goalie gets a penalty shot save but also gets a loss..it would be a minus 1 to opposing team.
Goalie making Overtime gets +.50
Goalie that gets an OTL (Over Time Loss) -.50
(OTL includes losing a Shoot Out...)
So those two things could easily cancel each other out... A Goalie who Wins in OT would get +1.00 for Win as normal and the +.50 bonus for making OT...
Just to clarify a goalie shutout (bonus).. A goalie must shutout his opposing team for all of regulation and the five minute overtime period for it to be considered a shutout.
Team Points
Team win = 2 points added to standings
Overtime loss (game ends in tie after score is added up but then loses in a shootout with other team. = 1 point added to the standings
Team Loss = 0 points added to standings
Line Changes:
If you want to make a lineup change you must make sure that no member of your lineup has played already that could affect the outcome. EX If my Enforcer lineup is Hordichuk, Worrell, and Peat.. I could not put McClaren in for Worrell before gametime if Peat played already even though he is in the backup position. (same goes for all positions) If their is something wrong with the forum and you can't post your lines on it email them to me at hhhjediknight@yahoo.com no excuses.. If lineups arn't changed in either fashion then you get same lines as the previous week.
Challenges and changes of position:
At the draft each team gets two switches you can either change two position players on your team or challenge two position players on another team..or you can do one for your team and one for an opposing team. Ex. If Horton is a center and the Rangers have him listed as a wing then a team could use their challenge against his team.
If nobody challenges Horton then Andy could keep it the way it is or use his change option if he wanted.
To determine a position of a player 3 websites will be used and whatever 2 of the 3 sites say that will be the position for changes or challenges. The websites that will be used :
sports.espn.go.com/nhl/index
www.sportsline.com/nhl/
www.forecaster.ca/tsn/hockey/index.cgi
Lineups:
Consists of 3 centers, 6 wingers, 6 defensemen, 3 enforcers, 2or3 goalies.
The 3rd center is a backup. The 5th and 6th wingers are backups. The 5th and 6th defensemen are backups. The 3rd enforcer is a backup. The 2nd and 3rd goalies are backups. Backups stats count only if your starters are scratched from the league games lineup. Backups will come in to replace the 1st available vacant spot that doesn't play according to your order listed. Example: your 5th winger will replace the 1st winger position first if he doesn't play. If he does play, then the 5th winger would replace the 2nd winger position if he doesn't play etc.
If a game has counted in the FHL and you want to make a legal change to your lineup you must leave a reply to line thread stating what change you made to your lines as well as modifying the lines themselves.
How a tie game will be decided for a victory
It will go down to a shootout..Basically each team picks before their game 3 players that they think will add to most amount total accumulative score. Which ever team has more will be the winner of the shootout. Mark a next to the players you want as your shootout players in your lineup. If the 3 players add up to exactly the same as the other teams.. the tie will then be decided by the team with the best goalie for the night playoff method.
Please note* If a shootout player does not play then his backup will count as that nights shootout player.
Playoffs
The last place team in each division doesn't make the playoffs. In the event of a tie at the end of the season the tie breaker will go down to season series winner, then wins, Goals for, least goals against.
The 2nd and 3rd place team in each division will play each other in the 1st round and the first and fourth seeded team in each division will play in a best of 3 series. The winner of those games will play the in a best of three series (Conference Finals). The winner of each Conference will play the winner of the other Conference in a best of three series to see who wins the Cup.
Tie breaker for Playoffs-
In case of a tie then the winner of the game will go down to whoever had a goalie who played, if both had a goalie who played then goalie win, If both goalies got a win then whichever goalie had given up the least amount of goals (goalie must play at least 55minutes or not eligible) If both gave up same amout of goals then it goes down to whoever had more saves..If the goalies still have the same stats then the game will then be decided in a shootout fashion like regular season.
How do I know which games are league games?
Basically there are 30 NHL teams in the league... If all thirty teams played on Saturday then all league games would count for saturday. Since not all teams play on saturday then we go to Sundays games for the teams that don't play on Saturday. Sometimes a team will not play on either Saturday or Sunday in which we take the Stats for Fridays game..and proceed in a backwards fashion...then Thursdays games etc. Most of the time all thirty teams will play on Fri. Sat. or Sun...
For a listing of which games count for that week go to the "Fantasy NHL Schedule" section on the website.
If you desire to draft a free agent player
Make a new thread in the free agents section of the FHL forum of the player that you want. If you want a player to be eligible for that weeks bids he must be posted anytime between Thursday and Monday at midnight eastern. The starting bid for any player starts at $2. All bids can be raised in quarter increments or higher ex. $2.25, 2.75, 3.50 etc. Other teams have the right to bid on this player as well. The final bid will be made by Wednesday at 10pm eastern. Everytime a bid is made then the deadline extends 15 minutes until there is no bidding. Example.. If a player ups the bid on Wednesday at 9:50 pm then the bidding war will end at 10:05pm if no one else bids.
When you are over the limit on players after wednesday's bidding war you must have 99 players by the time the 1st league game counts after Wednesday. If you do not cut players in time your roster will remain the same prior to bids and the player or players will be placed on the waiver wire with your team still responsible for paying the bid. (Try and cut players ASAP)
Waivers
If you want a player on the waiver list just make a thread in the waiver list forum claiming him..You must make the claim before Monday at midnight eastern.. If a team with a worse record does not reply to your claim by Wednesday at 10pm eastern then the player is yours for $1.
If you claim a player a team with a better record then yours can't claim that player after you, Only a team with a worse record can grab the player out from under you.
Trades-
Players are not allowed to trade there teams draft picks for any year after the following seasons picks. This rule could be stretched if the league feels it is ok for the franchise.
There will be a trade freeze put on all players during Saturday and Sunday games during the regular season. (No trades on Saturday and Sunday during regular season)
If a player is injured it must be made aware to the other team who is getting such player unless it is a day to day type injury. If the injury becomes more then day to day the league can award compensation for the player who is injured.
Trades can not be made unless a teams roster limit is up to par first. (Not allowed to trade players away to get under roster limit)
Trade deadline and any other trade freezes will be announced here
Any trade can be disallowed by the commissioner if he feels it is unjust or could hurt the league in some fashion. A trade might be considered unjust if the league feels a deal is too one sided.. Money compensation in trades will only be allowed if an owner is classified as respected and active.
