This trade should secure Boston for you, while giving you trade bait you can package with Hedberg...
I Figure Dan Ellis is 28 years old, he was a career backup before getting the nod in Nashville last year... Where starting goalies don't last long lately, Vokoun was run out of there, and Mason last year... The year before Ellis had mediocre at best numbers playing in the AHL with a 2.78 GAA and .894 Save Percentage... Even with Manny's .832 Save Percentage with a 3.93 GAA, Thomas managed to get them 11th ranked overall... While Nashville with ownership issues was ranked 16th...
Mike Smith wasn't some touted prospect who was supposed to be a starter in the NHL... He was a backup in Dallas that got traded to Tampa... He had 10 loses in 13 starts, with a 2.79 GAA, and .893 Save Percentage... Hardly All Star looking numbers, I had Denis who was supposed to be the starter there... He ended up in the AHL and cut... Then they had Holmqvist who they traded to Dallas and he went home to play... Tampa has supposed to have been a good team the last 3 years... They ranked dead last at 30th in Goal Tending last year... They might have good players for Fantasy Hockey, but its not likely they will be good for the Goalies if they win 8-5 or 5-3 hehe... Tonight vs. the Rangers my player Ramo faced 47 Shots in a 4-2 Win... There isn't anything etched in stone that Smith will be the starter this year or for years to come... Thomas has shown the last 3 years he can play at a high level in the NHL... Not to mention he is on a better team for Fantasy Goalie purposes than Smith and perhaps Ellis as well... Not to mentin the other players in the deal who should put your team in the next level... You can win now, or hope to win in 5 years from now ...
Kings will trade...

Your 2009 1st Round Pick, G-Mike Smith (Tampa), and Retired W-Luc Robitalle
Tim Thomas is coming off an All Star season for the Boston Bruins... They tried to replace him with Toivennen who ended up sent to parts unknown... Then they tried to bring in your guy Manny Fernandez hehe... Anyways Thomas had 28 Wins, 3 Shut Outs, a 2.44 GAA, and a .921 Save Percentage... Among the best in the NHL, he should be good for about 60 Starts... Boston was among the best in the NHL only letting up 222 Goals, while scoring 212... They still made the post season even without Bergeron, largely from the play of Tim Thomas.
Fedotenko should have a good year on the Penguins, even on the lowly Islanders he had 16 Goals, 8 PP in only 67 games. His best year for goals was 2005-06 when he had 26 Goals on 164 Shots shooting 15.85%... I'd not be surprised if he got that many goals or more playing on a stacked Penguins team... He has always done pretty well on league night too. I remember when I had Richards, Prospal, and him all on Tampa, often he would have the best League night production... I think he can stick in your top 3-5 Wings, I'd like to see how he does with a chance to play... I really didn't want to trade him, but your looking to win now, I'm looking at 2009 hehe. He was a key to Tampa's Cup run, when he had 12 Goals, on 43 Shots, shooting an insane 27.91%... I'll miss him but I think he can pan out pretty well for you... Fedotenko isn't even 30 years old, he could have a solid double digit PP total, which could be the difference between the post season or missing it.
Cory Murphy is supposed to be a power play specialist, he had 12 points on the PP last year... Florida signed him from europe, just like the Devils signed Rafalski years ago, or how Zidlicky signed with Nashville... Murphy had 17 points in 47 games, so he could be good for about 30+ points in a full season... Before coming over from Europe he was a pretty good offensive D-man... He had 13 Goals, 50 Points in 45 games in 2006-07 in Finland... In 2005-2006 he had 13 Goals, 35 Points in 44 games in Sweden... In 2004-2005 he had 12 Goals, 35 Points in 56 games in Finland... In 2003-2004 he had 18 Goals, 44 Points, in 56 games in Finland... I think he would have a shot to stay in your top 4 D-men... I have him in my top 9, I'm just not a fan of the Panthers to be honest.
Nathan Paetsch, probably has the most upside of any of the D-men offered in the deal... I have Pominville, I don't really like Buffalo much, I already traded Brian Campbell when he was on there hehe. He had a bit of a sophmore jinx last year. Buffalo had issues across the board, he didn't get much ice time, now players have left/retired from there. He did have as many goals on less shots, having his shooting % improve a bit at least... The year before he had 24 Points in 63 games, he should just be coming into his prime now...
Hamel had a good pre season in 2006-07 where he had a hat trick, I think it was a PP, SH, and normal goal... He scored the few league night games I started him as well... There is a chance he can crack the Senators lineup with the salary cap how it is... They signed him to a 3 year contract not long ago... He for some reason is a guy never given a shot to play at the NHL level... He had 1 goal on 3 shots when he played for Atlanta in 2006-07... Hamel had 56 Goals, 91 Points, in 2005-06 in the AHL... The guy has shown the ability to score at the AHL level, he could pan out for you... I really don't understand why he has never been given a real chance to produce in the NHL to be honest.
Pouliot is a 1st Rounder who is a prospect at Center for Edmonton... Once Visnovsky got traded there, that put his chances of figuring into my lineup into the nill range... Reinprecht had 5 PP Goals/1 SH with 16 Goals and 46 Points... He is a good backup Center for you if nothing else... In 06-07 he had 33 Points in 44 Games for Phoenix... The season before that he had 22 Goals and 52 Points... I just hate Phoenix as the only/main reason I'm including him or trading him at all hehe...
Turple after Atlanta drafted him had 7 Shut Outs, 40 Wins, 2.25 GAA, and a .924 Save Percentage in the OHL... He is only 23 years old, has a fair amount of upside, I figure he can at least crack the NHL as a backup for the Thrashers... Better to get him now in a trade while his value isn't that high... Look at past goalies I bid on or owned, they cost a 1st rounder, Toskala, Huet, the latter a guy I bid on when he was on the Manchester Monarchs in the AHL ... You know Atlanta goalies are injury prone, he could see NHL time this year... At worse you can probably package him in a deal with your other Atlanta goalie to the Avalanche...
I guess let me know, I probably will offer these guys in another trade so they might be gone if wait too long... Tell me which option you want to do... I plan to put Luc on my inactive list, if you don't want to include him thats fine...
I'll keep this trade open until Sept 29th at 11:47 PM... I might still do deal after that but I'm not obligated to...
