I'll probably regret this trade, you have done well in the deals we made in the past.
Kings will trade...
D-Cory Murphy (Fla) and W-Ryan Callahan (NYR)
or
W-Ryan Callahan (NYR) and D-Brian Pothier (Caps)*
or
D-Nathan Paetsch (Buffalo)
For
Your 2nd Round Pick 2008 (12th Overall)
*Pothier had last year end on an injury, that is why I'm including Callahan in the deal with him... Otherwise I'd want a 2nd round Pick for him alone... I'd take some time to check into his status if your interested in that trade offer... Before his injury Pothier had 5 Goals, 14 Points in 38 Games... That put him on pace for about 10+ Goals and 30ish points. He should be good for about 30+ points and 5-10+ Goals a season. The year before last he logged as much as 30 minutes in games... If you decide to go with this option, just check into his health to make sure he should recover without any issues. I have him in my top 9 D-men, I just don't really like the Capitals, it makes me think of Dale Hunter's cheap shot.
Ryan Callahan is a pretty solid prospect, I've seen him graded an A... Which means he should be a sure thing to stick in the NHL, I think he was rated about a 6.5A... He should be good for about 20-30+ goals, I just don't like the Rangers, he is my last position player on the team... I figure on your team, he will have time to grow into a position as your older wingers retire. I don't have much doubt he will crack 20-30 goals, he just isn't in my top 10 Wings.
Nathan Paetsch, probably has the most upside of any of the D-men offered in the deals... I have Pominville, I don't really like Buffalo much, I already traded Brian Campbell when he was on there hehe. I'm just making you the offer since I have it extended to the Rangers... I figure they are in your division, he had a bit of a sophmore jinx last year. Buffalo had issues across the board, he didn't get much ice time, now players have left/retired from there. He did have as many goals on less shots, having his shooting % improve a bit at least... The year before he had 24 Points in 63 games, he should just be coming into his prime now...
Cory Murphy is supposed to be a power play specialist, he had 12 points on the PP last year... Florida signed him from europe, just like the Devils signed Rafalski years ago, or how Zidlicky signed with Nashville... Murphy had 17 points in 47 games, so he could be good for about 30+ points in a full season... Before coming over from Europe he was a pretty good offensive D-man... He had 13 Goals, 50 Points in 45 games in 2006-07 in Finland... In 2005-2006 he had 13 Goals, 35 Points in 44 games in Sweden... In 2004-2005 he had 12 Goals, 35 Points in 56 games in Finland... In 2003-2004 he had 18 Goals, 44 Points, in 56 games in Finland... I think he would have a shot to be in your top 4 D-men... I have him in my top 9, I'm just not a fan of the Panthers to be honest.
Knuble had 29 goals, 16 assists, with 15 on the PP. I traded you him for very little, yet Knuble has consitently stood the test of time. He even did better than Gagne who you used as a reason to try to trade him. Maybe Callahan could be your new Knuble down the line hehe.
I guess let me know, I probably will offer these guys in another trade so they might be gone if wait too long...
I'll keep this trade open until Sept 24th at 4:20 PM... I might still do deal after that but not obligated to...
