Game 1
In game one of the series it was pretty much all Blackhawks. Giguere was stellar in goal allowing just one goal and getting the win. Niedermayer started the offense off onto the right foot by scoring a powerplay goal and adding an assist Friday night. Once again Joe Sakic made a playoff appearance when Team Coach Patrick Roy benched Spezza proving to be the right move as Sakic scored a goal in his first start of the season. Ovechkin and Gaborik continued to be solid both adding a goal and an assist, whild Nash chipped in with a goal as well. The offensive star of the game had to go to second year foward Evgeni Malkin who had an unassisted goal and two assists. The Blackhawks continued to show they are the toughest team in the league getting a fight from tough guy Colton Orr as well.

The Rangers were behind the eight ball to start with putting in goaltender Ty Conklin as a last minute change who allowed 5 goals and got a loss. Kovalchuk made things interesting with a penalty shot goal and Mark Streit on defense added a poweplay goal but that was all they could get going in Game 1.
Final score 9-1 Blackhawks.
Game 2
Most of the Blackhawks team seemed to have been asleep except for a select few. Malkin continued his great play notching 3 assists and Giguere played great in goal winning and allowing just one goal but that was about it.
The Rangers took advantage of a sleepy Hawk team getting goals from Rolston, Kovalchuk, St. Louis, and Horton adding a crushing overtime goal to finish off the Hawks. Martin Biron stood on his head in goal allowing one goal getting the win and notching 32 saves.
Final score 3-0 Rangers
Game 3
The Rangers jumped off to an early lead with a great game from goaltender Ryan Miller who allowed two goals and got the win adding 30 saves. Rolston, Kovalchuk and St Louis added goals to put the pressure on a Blackhawk team that had most of their players going on Sunday.
Gaborik had the Blackhawks lone goal on Saturday so things were looking pretty bleak in Chicago going into Sunday. Evgeni Malkin the Blackhawks star in the prevous two playoff games was feeling the pressure Sunday afternoon and came out on fire notching 2 goals and adding two assists putting the Blackhawks back on the positive side. Phanuef added a goal and Nash got 2 assists leaving the game up to goaltender Nabokov in the last game sunday night. Nabokov was able to make it till overtime while only allowing the one goal but lost in a shootout giving the Hawks enough to give them the win. If the Hawks would have lost 2-1 in regulation rather then overtime then the Rangers would have been the team in the finals.
Final score 4-2 Blackhawks
